Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community
The Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community is going virtual!
Due to the ongoing developments related to COVID-19, the Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community has been modified to become a Virtual Walk. So even if we can’t be together on that day, we can still get together in spirit and support the families at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Pittsburgh and Morgantown, Inc.
Here is how the Virtual Walk will work:
A virtual walk is a real walk, but it’s on your terms! Anytime between May 9 – June 30, you choose how and when you walk (treadmill, park or trail, or around the neighborhood) – it’s your choice! You also pick the time of when you start and stop!
Virtual walkers can safely and leisurely participate in a 5K (3.1 mile) walk or a one-mile walk (safely without the crowds and in accordance with the CDC guidelines).
This year to keep up the momentum of individual fundraising, the minimum amount raised to receive a t-shirt has been lowered to $15 before June 30, 2020 (previous amount $30). T-shirts will be given to organizational leaders for distribution in July.
Highmark will continue to offer (1) raffle ticket for every $50 raised. Raffle chances are tracked online within the individual walker milestone tracker on the Luminate online system. All donations much be credited to the individual walker account by the walk organization by June 30, 2020. Prizes will be distributed in July.
We encourage our walkers to share their journey with us via social media!
- Post photos of you safely walking to the Highmark Walk Facebook page using the #highmarkwalk and tagging the Highmark Walk Facebook page!
All of this can be done while raising funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Pittsburgh and Morgantown!
